Hi Everyone

I have spent a good few weeks reading as much as i can regarding this subject. I will be honest my head is fried.

I know this has been done to death and i apologise i advance if people are sick of seeing this being asked.

I have rececently become the owner of a 2008 Range Rover Vogue tdv8, I love the car but the head unit lets it down so much.

If possible i would like to upgrade the head unit, all i can find through the search on the site is people doing it to the earlier version.

What i know is that the car has factory fitted tv, webasto, reverse camera, DSP and has a single sub.

I have read about the Nav TV option, which will give me video in motion and an audio&video input. Could i then connect some sort of android device to this and use google maps via the internet on my phone?

I have read an option of moving the current head unit to the boot and running a cable from the boot to the dash which connects to a new head unit.. is this available on my model?

I have now just read something about an i-bus app installed on the android device will allow me to still use the factory controls?

As you can see i am so confused.

Any help would be much appreciated.

No experience of your exact head unit, but just be mindful that most of the threads regarding head unit upgrade relate to the early non touchscreen BMW based cars.

I’m not sure much has been done with the cars with the MOST system.

Might be wrong of course....and others who have done it will be along soon.....

Not seen a replacement head unit for the MOST system, either, and the ibus app is also for BMW based cars.

What is wrong with the original unit? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

I can honestly say my old zx spectrum 48k computer looked more pleasing to the eye than what is displayed on the original head units satnav. It is awful.

I was hoping to be able to change it to something that could run google maps or similar.
