Strange goings on...

Hi All,

Any thoughts appreciated.

So today my car has no sound from the various devices such as Radio etc.... Amplifier, I hear you say... welll maybe, but maybe not.

Navigation - Works no sound
TV - appears on menu but when you press it the radio stays on screen....same for DAB, portable music.
Phone - connects and can dial etc... but no sound.

I can understand the Sound/Amp, but it seems a stretch that would leave me with a seemingly working, but unselectable group of other inputs.... but some that can be selected.

Anyone else experienced this ?

Hi Jon,

Yes -- I have!

First time it happened an overnight of 'doing nothing' fixed it, second time it happened soon after I actually put the IID tool on it and cleared all the faults which fixed it -- not happened since -- though the entire system did a reboot on a 3 hour journey a few months after all of the above.

Have you got any logged faults?

Faults cleared, one of which was a MOST communications error.

On the IID, it does look like anything downstream of the BT Module is showing as ‘Not Fitted’ despite showing in the CCF as fitted.

Did it all come back, or still problematic?

Have you got a MOST loop kit? -- from others experience it's likely to be the BT module -- if you don't have a loop kit you could use the 'BIC biro' method as a temporary test. Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

No change from clearing the faults so, need to read up on the biro method of testing 2011 Stornaway Grey 5.0SC Autobiography
