165 Point Check ?

Helping a colleague with the purchase of an Approved Used L405.
A car he is keen on has a number of paint work defects which the dealer seems uninterested in, also there are a number of windscreen impact areas which are described as having been smart repaired.
It is also difficult to find out from the dealer exactly what has been done service wise i.e. brake & oil changes to transmission etc. and if all software updates etc. have been carried out.
I know the sales blurb states 'when you cant tell its used its Land Rover Approved' but in the real world I accept a used car is not a new car, so a certain degree of realism in line with the cars age & mileage is necessary.
The BVRLA issue guide lines as to what is acceptable and what is not so upon the return of a lease car everyone knows where they stand.
Does anyone know what exactly the AU 165 point check consists of and does it set out allowed tolerances or guidelines in regard to the items checked ?
I have searched on line but all I can seem to find is related to the US market.
Thanks in advance for any advice and apologies if I am asking a question that has already been answered.

Enough said - walk away

If the dealer isn’t accommodating at the pre-sale stage, then you have absolutely no chance if you have any post-sale problems.

Meant to say, I totally agree with Alistair, if all is how you describe the situation then there is no way your friend should be buying the car. Asking for trouble I'm afraid

Baltic Blue thank you for posting the check sheets.
Chalky thank you for the advise regarding word.
Unfortunately even after copying them to word and enlarging them I can not read the text.
I suspect better glasses or improved computer skills are called for.
From what I can see it looks like the columns on the right are maybe for scoring the various items checked.
I would presume something like maybe poor, acceptable , good?
With regard to paint work defects which are maybe open to interpretation as to what is acceptable.
Are there any guide lines as to what the AU standard is (and who sets them), or is it at the individual dealers discretion as to what meets the AU criteria, dependant on how much margin they have in the car or how they feel on the day?
There is of course always the option on our side of walking away, which may well happen in this case.
It just feels wrong to have to argue about what is or not acceptable on a vehicle which although not new is still a fair lump of money, and supposedly complies with the criteria of a manufacturers AU scheme.

Please walk away from this car!!

The salesmen would not be arguing with you about the bits and pieces if he was confident in his product.

There will be cars out there which will fit the bill perfectly for your colleague...it is just not worth the risk.

Agree with the walk away suggestions.
Find a better one from a better dealership.
