Sorry Nick but I know my Porsche's and I think the Cayenne doesn't drive like a Porsche nor does it look like one. It is fast and disguises its weight pretty well but don't say it drives like a proper Porsche as it doesn't! The Cayenne appeals more to people who don't know what makes a proper Porsche, a bit like people who buy the Evoque thinking they are buying a Range Rover. The Evoque will probably be a very good car in its own right but it will never be a Range Rover! They should have called it the Land Rover Evoque but then again is it a proper Land Rover? |

Have to differ with you there CSK, I've had several Porsches, which purists would say are not 'proper' Porsches. To me, a Porsche (or a Land Rover) is a car produced by the company, not for us to decide if it warrants the badge, it's their privilege, and responsibility. To many people a proper Porsche has to be rear engine, rear wheel drive, not so long ago it had to be air cooled as well. To some a 'proper' Land Rover must have a hoseable interior and ventilation flaps. Only problem is if the car production companies listened to the purists we would be driving around in cars which hadn't evolved! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining! |

I think you can modernise an icon and keep the spirit, like the 911 and proper Range Rover.

All very true! Of course the other issue is that most manufacturers are having to compromise their product range just to hit co2 average targets! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining! |

This one looks good value (although I've not come across a 4.0L Supercharged before)
