Swapped the space saver for a full size in my 15MY. Just had to chuck the polystyrene. 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

Triarii - not sure if you did the swap over yourself. If so, you’ll have no doubt discovered one of the features of the full-sized spare and that’s the immense weight of it. I thought I could ignore the special “winch” that helps get the wheel out of the boot well but I couldn’t budge the thing without this. 2016 SDV8 AB

The part number for the winch is LR085460, I think the list price is about £80 but I managed to get a brand new one from Ebay for £25 Cheers Ian

Quick questions to the team - does a full size spare have it's own TPMS device fitted? I'm assuming it must.

Secondly, does anyone know the correct part number for the TPMS on 2019MY cars? I suspect it will be exactly the same as the current ones used on all L405s.

That's brilliant - thanks Stan! Thumbs Up

In fact your post prompted me to have a look at the online user manual and hey presto!

It came with 21's when i bought it, so 275 width. It then had multiple sets of 22's with 275's 285's & 295's and the spares all fitted under the boot floor. It now has 285's on the 23's...

Well, (excuse the pun) my new full size spare fits perfectly - very pleased with the purchase. Cost me about £160 more than specifying it from new, but there you go, lesson learned.

The good news is, the TMPS sensor I bought for £20 from ebay was recognised by the car instantly, so no programming or cloning required.

On another related note, I worked out my own system for getting the spare out of the wheel well - and it doesn't cost £80, or whatever. I have a set of 2 Lidl ratchet straps bought for the princely sum of £7.99 -

I opened up the ratchet and hooked the end onto the tailgate rim, then clipped the hook on the strap onto it, threaded the free end of the strap under two spokes at the back and two at the front of the spare wheel, passed the end through the slot in the ratchet spindle. I could then pull on the strap end and it lifted the wheel up to allow me to swing it onto the tailgate. Rolled the ratchet set up, zip-tied it and chucked it into the wheel well. Job done! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Your ratchet set up would appear to be a much better solution than the Land Rover one Laughing Cheers Ian
