Does anyone know the part number for the oil filler plug on the ZF gearbox?

Land Rover = LR007610
ZF = 0636 308 025
BMW = 24 11 7 552 349
Jaguar = JLM20208/C2C6729/C2C38965

These are all the same M18 x 1.5mm screw plug.

United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Hi guys today when I tried to reverse the car off the drive way today I got the dreaded trans message again and on checking the gearbox oil has leaked out AGAIN from the same oil cooler pipe connection (the left hand side one when looking down at the car from the front).

I had the both oil cooler pipes replaced with brand new genuine Land Rover parts a few weeks ago and the oil cooler itself is a new Nissens genuine part from carparts4less and was only changed about a month ago. When starting the car the oil is leaking out from the connection at a fast trickle pace, the pipe still looks like it is connected.

This is becoming a real pain, does anyone have any idea how to make sure that cooler pipe connection doesn’t come loose when fitting? Thanks in advance for any advice 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

Just to follow up on this I’ve just spoken to Island who I ordered the cooler pipes from and they think the replacement Oil Cooler is at fault as they have had similar problems in the past with the Nissens part. They said the connector pipe end on the Nissens part is a few mm too small which has in the past caused problems with leaks so they have stopped stocking that part.

I have now ordered the genuine Hella part from them, I had assumed that the Nissens part was genuine OEM quality (price nearly identical to the Hella part) but from what I was told it’s a cheap lower quality part made in China for Nissens.

Hopefully this thread prevents any one else making the same mistake and buying the Nissens part and that the new part fixes the problem as this issue has become a right ball ache recently. 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

Just to follow up on this I've now had the car repaired, it took a full 6 litres of gearbox oil this time which means the car has now had 3 gearbox oil changes in the last 1000 miles (1 month). We replaced the oil cooler for the hella unit from the nissens at the same time but to be honest the connector pipe was identical in dimensions so I'm not convinced that was the cause of the fault.

We cable tied the pipe on and also used steel wire so fingers crossed it stays in place this time 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

The only other thing i was thinking would be if your transmission mount was so bad the transmission was moving and dislodging the pipe, but that idea could be total crap !
When I checked my engine and transmission mounts i connected up a webcam connected to my laptop on a long wire and mounted it under the car to see what was going on- that may also be total crap Very Happy
