They’ve been blanked for the last couple of years but the fault became an issue, as MOT date was approaching.
Yes I could’ve had them deleted but I wanted to be able to put things back to standard when I come to sell the car. 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀

2010 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Alaska White

Hi, I blanked my Egr valves using a similar kit over a year ago without any EML. The Egr will still open and close as normal so the ECU is happy, however I am now starting to get occasional Egr codes and "restricted performance" messages. However the car still runs sweetly and no noticed lack of performance. I guess the egr valves are now needing replacement. I am looking to delete them from the software instead which should stop them moving at all. Any recommendations for software delete? I have a GAP iiD tool. I believe you can get the engine Map off and email for delete. Anyone done this? or advise how?

The 4.4 has a DPF as well as EGR, and you cant blank them off because of that, so blanking only ok on 3.6

It’s quiet on hear regarding the remapping and deletion of EGRs on the 4.4. People mention that EGRs are required when you have DPFs however I believe this is a misconception …. EGRs lower the combustion temp through a slightly less efficient combustion as a result of less O2 available which reduces the NOx but at the same time actually increase particulates as a result which are captured by the DPF.
Come regen time the car needs to increase its combustion temp momentarily to increase the temp of the DPF and this is done by a number of means including closing the EGR allowing a much cleaner and hotter burn….. pretty sure I’ve remembered this correctly from my Uni Professor who was teaching the ICE module. In theory, when the EGR is blanked the engine creates less particulates and actually places less demand in the DPF.

Has anyone come across any definitive definition of the EGR/DPR relationship that isn’t a forum post or back street tuner website?

I would like to get the EGR mapped out on my 4.4 and I believe lots of cars have had this done and kept the DPF with no issues.

I'd be very interested to know this also. I have blanked the EGR's on my 3.6, which improved running dramatically, but I still have the fault. So I want to do the delete, but my car is fitted with dpf's, so I want to be sure I won't do any damage.

My 3.6 is showing a left bank EGR fault, and giving me loads of restricted perfromance warnings. They go away if you don't clear them, but I need to get a map. 2009 TDV8 3.6

If you couple up an OK EGR to the EGR electrical connector, you can delete the fault codes of a faulty EGR without replacing the faulty original if its already blanked & you feel like saving some time. Paul,

Just blanked out mine using flat plates that retain the corrugated steel pipe, totally stealth.
