When I removed this I couldn't get the arm assembly out of the tensioner body, but on undoing the two screws i was able to remove the whole thing (tensioner and pulley were OK, so not an issue)

Fairly certain it is not attached to the compressor in any way, was able to remove the compressor without removing the tensioner body. The tensioner body just slots into the hole. Not sure why the arm wouldn't come out, and like you didn't want to hit it too hard! .

The tensioner as out. But for that I have to soak it with WD40 and a screw at the end, and hit that screw with a hammer.
