Stan,
When my 2 years was up, I took the letter offering extended cover to my M D to see what they could offer.
They wanted me to sign for an annual MD service plus MOT, plus a premium of approx £1k.
I decided that my annual mileage didn’t really warrant it, plus I wanted to do my own annual oil and filter change etc. and I wanted the diffs, Xfer box and gearbox oils changed. which were not included in their quote.
I opened a “slush fund” account and will pay a local indi to do any work I can’t manage.

thanks Mike..i'm thinking the same about keeping the money in the bank for 'eventuality's' but the thought of something major breaking worries me some...
the wife and my eldest son reckon i should go for the warranty but i'm a 'tight git' so i'm not sure..

what also concerns me is what happens when i'm cruising round the alps and then break down...i see the AA do a top tier service for around £200 where you get parts and labour up to £500 included...

@Ryan ..i reckon you're at the top of their 'wanted' list after the SC problems Laughing ... - .- -.

Stan,
It was the “wear and tear” exclusion caveat that worried me.
When I had had my Td6 for less than 2 years ( ie. still under App Warranty, they refused to replace the front drop links when I got an advisory on the MOT, saying that it was normal “wear and tear”.
I have never been back to that Dealer.

Pay the money for the LR Warranty, Stan.

And sleep easy.

Yes, you might never need to claim. But if you do ...

Mine paid me back handsomely last year.

Although I’d have preferred it not to.

Plus if you sell privately, what a great benefit to the new owner the warranty will be. What do I put here then?

i have to admit that i do worry about things that don't warrant it Greg..
and you're right, if i do decide to seek the new owner will relish the remaining warranty...

@Mike, i thought the 'mot' warranty bit covered that kind of thing... ... - .- -.

Stan,
Apparently ONLY if it fails. Advisories don’t count as MOT failure.
I argued but got nowhere.

That SC probably caused warranty premiums to increase Stan Shocked

green flag are competitive for European cover.. mine cost under £90.00 not sure if u want both warranty and breakdown... Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

i've been googling trying to find out if the AA european cover includes UK cover and seem to get the feeling its not so i think you pay for both separately...

They won’t just relish it, Stan.

They’ll have peace of mind - as you will while you have the warranty.

And that’s a strong bargaining chip in your favour. What do I put here then?
