Are values falling after the budget?

Been on the blower to a few dealers at lunchtime today and did a WBAC for my car and just can't see how they can consider their values realistics since A) it's winter so best time to sell my car, and B) dealer cars seem so far away from WBAC values. One of them is 30k away since it has a bodykit and big wheels.

I mean I love buying a car but I don't see how they can have it both sides!! (Not had any trade-in prices yet right enough)

Extended warranty for me by the looks it, as just don't think I can see any value in some of the cars on the LR approved website, or think any of these guys are gonna come back with a value that seems reasonable to me for my car.

There is a nice Black 3.0 16.5 AB that seems well priced, but it would mean almost about 10k across the car (I've calculated a warranty and some service costs to prep the car).....

I'm perplexed. all smug in my new plug!

I don't usually replace my cars that quickly so feel I get some value from the cars I buy. I had my Land Cruiser VX for 11yrs and my D3 for 8yrs so the crushing depreciation is far less painful over the long term. My D3 was losing about £1k/month when first bought and the D4 that followed it was similar. I bought the FF to allay my fears of the "Low Emission Zone" when it becomes more stringent in a year or so. Well that's what I told the wife!

I do intend to keep the FF for many years to come though so as to reduce the pain somewhat.

WBAC prices are low, as they have a huge stock of 4x4's built up over the summer. As it gets colder /snowier, those cars sell, and command a premium. 2-3 weeks after the snow hits is usually the best time to sell. To. WBAC

But by that point, you could have sold it privately for more Thumbs Up

I recently sold my old D3 to WBAC. It had done 165k mile and was a 2006 car. Seeing as the head gasket had failed, the gearbox and torque converter had gone, I was totally happy for the bloke to point out the peeling lacquer on the alloys. They gave me £2200 which I was very happy with tbh.
