Central locking (Or not!)

Hi all - hope someone can tell me this is a quick, easy fix - but I'm not holding my breath!

The central locking on my 2004 Autobiography 4.4V8 is screwed up.

Driver's door - Doesn't respond to the remote - will lock and unlock with the key.

Front passenger door - Operates with the remote and key perfectly

Tailgate - Locks and unlocks with the remote and key as it should.

N/S rear will not unlock with the remote (or with the driver's key) but will lock with both

O/S rear will not unlock with the remote (or with the driver's key) but will lock with both.

If I have to replace the driver's locking mechanism - does it have to be re-coded to the remote, or is that elsewhere in the car?

Thanks

Pete

Just a blatant bump to see if anyone can respond to the problem above?

Check for faults on iid if u can. Have the same model and year and my fault was heavy steering and rear pass door lock operating intermittently until it stopped all together. wouldn’t work on the central button nor key fob.

BCU was the issue. Well documented here. Sits under the pass seat and can be changed by yourself in under an hour (there is an excellent guide on here.)

New ones are c. £200 so make sure it is definitely that at fault Thumbs Up

Try re-syncing the keys with the vehicle, to see if that make any difference

Thanks David - I would've thought that if the key was out of sync - none of the locks would operate?

I'll still check though - what's the point in asking for advice on here if you're not going to follow it?

Cheers
