Rear arches bodyshop repair cost OK?

I have the dreaded rear wheel arch corrosion on my 06MY SC which, as it’s fairly extensive, I’ve decided to get it professionally attended to.

I’ve asked a classic car restorers who I trust to do a good job to quote for the work. Here’s their quote, what do you guys think of the price please?

>>> Strip off plastic inner arches, cut out corroded sections, sand blast. Fabricate new sections and weld in.
>>> Prep and paint area, refit and polish.
>>> Paint & Materials £60
>>> Labour (22hrs) £924
>>> +VAT (Total cost £1,180] 2006MY 4.2 SC

I was quoted £450 to strip and repaint mine along with the tailgate corrosion, but my arches don't require welding (yet!) 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Over a grand sounds steep.
But they've set out a thorough job with new sections, sandblasting etc.
Depends how bad I guess.
. Cheers, Greg

So mine has just cost me £1700 to do same, but that included tailgate respray, all the door handles re sprayed the bonnet trim ( where the washers are ) resprayed also they did a dent in the roof and some corrosion inside the sunroof when you opened it, rust inside both rear doors on the wheel arch was also done so TBF i dont think thats too far off the mark ..
But my guy quoted £1000 ish to start but once he started the amount of rot and work that was needed was above what he thought
And i need to attend to work in the boot wheel well and rear cross member and that is going to be on top of the work already done Big Cry Big Cry

hope that helps

If you have faith in the guys doing the job then the price is secondary really.
The trouble with paintwork is that once it's done you have no idea how well it's been prepared or how long it will last.
If this place is well established, has a good reputation and are willing to give you a guarantee I'd be reluctant to try and save a couple of hundred quid with someone you don't know.
