hear clunk when coming to first stop after sitting overnight

I guess this is the proper area to put issue threads, Mod's you can delete other.

So if I leave the Range overnight (this is when I seem to notice it...not sure how many hours are needed) and I get in it to go somewhere I almost always am hearing a clunk now at the first stop or slowing to first full stop. It almost sounds like a suspension clunk...but I can't get it to repeat. It only happens at first stop. For this reason I was/am thinking maybe its the brake pads seating themselves against the rotor...but I'm not so sure. Its an audible clunk not like a tap 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

If you reverse off your drive and brake then drive forwards and brake it could be pads moving or one of the many suspension arms and bushes that wear. I have a 6 sensor electronic stethoscope I use to try and find such noises but I have a clunk I have been trying to find for 3 years now ...

good point. I do back out of the drive at every house I'm at and then put it in D and drive off....then at the first stop "clunk". But never again during the drive. It only happens once so it's hard to figure it out with steth....plus it's not going to be able to be applied to a moving vehicle. Maybe I'll try going in reverse then D, and repeat a bunch to see if thats it. I was originally thinking suspension that maybe the suspension levels off or does it's thing while sitting and first stop the suspension is shifting causing it...but the more I thought about it...if it was suspension I should hear it while driving too. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

Most of the battle is recreating the noise, once you can do that you are half way there, although i can recreate my clunk i still cant find the damn cause !!
There are some rather large bushes in the rear subframe that could move one way in reverse under braking then shift forwards under the first braking, good luck !!

Brake clunk

Hi all, I have the same clunk noise when I touch the brake for the first time but it's every first time I brake whilst traveling.
When I first brake it clunks then I release if I brake again after no noise.?
Would this be bushes do you think. I had the front wheel off tonight and checked bolts calipers knuckle joints etc nothing loose.
What do you think my veihcle is the l322 td6 vogue 2003
