If you reverse off your drive and brake then drive forwards and brake it could be pads moving or one of the many suspension arms and bushes that wear. I have a 6 sensor electronic stethoscope I use to try and find such noises but I have a clunk I have been trying to find for 3 years now ... |

good point. I do back out of the drive at every house I'm at and then put it in D and drive off....then at the first stop "clunk". But never again during the drive. It only happens once so it's hard to figure it out with steth....plus it's not going to be able to be applied to a moving vehicle. Maybe I'll try going in reverse then D, and repeat a bunch to see if thats it. I was originally thinking suspension that maybe the suspension levels off or does it's thing while sitting and first stop the suspension is shifting causing it...but the more I thought about it...if it was suspension I should hear it while driving too. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

Most of the battle is recreating the noise, once you can do that you are half way there, although i can recreate my clunk i still cant find the damn cause !!

Hi all, I have the same clunk noise when I touch the brake for the first time but it's every first time I brake whilst traveling.
