Automatic Headlights

When i was going through an X5 phase, I test drove a 3.0d and it had automatic headlights on. It was on the switch, and involved rotating said switch anti-clockwise to position "A".

I'm not aware of anything similar on FFRR's, although the guy I bought it off seems to think it may be in the OBC somewhere. I've not found it

As these vehicles are far superior to X5's, why isn't this an option? It seems to have more bells and whistles than any X5 I've seen

nah, mine just puts the headlights on irrespective of daylight. Not to worry

Is the little red LED on the dash something related though?

At least it's not the other way round! (ie. OFF all the time regardless of light level) Laughing Laughing

I don't know where the sensor is for the Automatic headlights, but it could be FUBAR'd or just covered in clag and therefore thinks its dark.

So they should come on at night without switching them on then?

What's the red thing for on the dash, near the windscreen?

Auto headlights are a Vogue spec fitment as standard but not till later model years. Think 2004.
