My other pet hate is alloys that get refurbished on the wheel face but the wheel/ inner rim hasn't been cleaned beforehand and you end up with a horrible brown film on the inner rim that is difficult to remove

re cleaning the bugs off the windscreen, i use normal water and an old face cloth and just rub the bugs off..works well..

Will give it a try - I have a 'bug shifter' sponge, but I'm always worried it will scratch the screen.
