NFU Insurance

Credit, where credit's due:

This is my first year with NFU and to say that I'm impressed is an understatement.

Not only are you able to go and talk to a sensible human in the local office, but they covered me for:

A trailer (a bit unusual), with no charge for adding it part way through the policy.
Leaving the windows open while my dog is left in the car (all but impossible to get cover for).
Shotgun cartridges and ammunition in the car (okay, I don't need that one, but it's a laugh!).
2 Year's new for old cover.

And they were by far the best value, despite including breakdown and legal cover that no one else had included in their prices (you'll need a rural postcode though).

Now, having had the policy for 8 months, I have a broken windscreen. I insisted on an original (Pilkingtons) item and they authorised it straight away. No fuss at all! I'm actually feeling guilty about it Embarassed

HIGHLY recommended Thumbs Up

Excellent service and prices from our local office, it was lovely to speak to someone, they even came to our office to bid for the business, long may it continue...

It’s even more generous than that: 2,000 shotgun cartridges, or 2,000 rounds of ammunition (or possibly both at the same time!). That’s enough for your very own “Major Incident” and an article in the Daily Mail Laughing

They won’t cover explosives though, or any livestock or plant in the trailer. Mind you, as it’s the NFU, they might insist that said trailer has no working lights, has a tail board held shut with bailer twine and that the number plate, dating back to a Field Marshall that your dad sold long before you were born, is still the only one on it Rolling Eyes Laughing

We have a lot of insurances with the NFU, and the service is usually very good.

On the cover though there is a clause which specifically says the carriage of gas is prohibited.

If you take the letter of the law, this also probably includes no gas in your caravan too.
I tried to get clarification on quantities without success, so ending up paying an extra to specifically carry gas added to the policy.

Best wishes

And another one for NFU, all our cars, tractors and equipment are covered by them - I even have a separate policy with them for the shotguns. Reasonably priced and no quibbles when you need to make a claim. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
