England 2009 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

I had a claim recently. The right rear height sensor died on me so I contacted Autoguard who told me to take it to be diagnosed (I’d already diagnosed it myself...). Once a garage had diagnosed the issue they should contact Autoguard to tell them the issue and then they would authorise the work. Sounds pretty straightforward but there’s more...

Famous Four had my car for 3 days as they needed to order the part and fit it (they are always very busy). The garage did all of the liaising with Autoguard and the new sensor cured the issue.
But.
Cost of sensor and fitting - covered by Autoguard.
Cost of diagnosis - £65 plus vat - I had to pay this ???
Cost of 4 new nuts due to swelling £14 plus vat (they couldn’t torque the swollen ones sufficiently)
So the warranty job cost me about £100. Big Cry

If I had done the job myself it would have been a similar cost to me but there’s a degree of satisfaction in getting something out of the warranty company. I’m still a bit miffed that I diagnosed the issue with my own kit then had to pay a large amount for someone else to do the same but it’s all part of owning a FullFat

Bottom line - Autoguard do pay out but they are very picky, particularly about garages not doing any work until they authorise it, so make sure that you watch out for this. 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀
2009 3.6 V8 (MY2010) - my first ever diesel! - now also gone Sad

Cheers for the feedback Chris. I note the point about diagnosis, although it says on their website that Platinum cover provides up to £150+VAT diagnosis costs. Bearing in mind my local JLR dealer charges £135 per hour, that will soon get used up! SDV8 AB MY 2019
