after my first l405 was stolen, i got the vodafone cobra installed (gps tracker with hotline support) as well go a secret switch for the diagnose port to deactivate installed. Using your brain is useful. Sometimes. |

But these cars already have a Thatcham CAT1 alarm immobiliser do they not?

Yes, but the present immobiliser is controlled by an inadequate JLR 'security' system that can be circumvented rather too easily. Therefore, although it would be preferable for it to be unnecessary, a secondary system that immobilises the vehicle would reduce the chance of the vehicle being moved.
