Hi All

Ever since I got my car the TV has worked fine (when in a decent reception area) but the sound drops out for perhaps half a second every 10 seconds or so.

Anyone any idea what the cause might be?

Can I bump this because I have the exact same problem?
First World problems and all that, but it does make TV with a good picture (and presumably reception) useless because you miss dialogue. Current: 2007 RR 4.2 SC, now deceased, written off by an X5
Past: 1968 LR 2.25 (petrol) Series IIa

I have exactly the same issue & assumed that it was purely down to the reception that I was receiving. Interesting to see if anyone has other thoughts.

I find the sound is the first thing that starts dropping intermittently when the signal is getting weaker. Once the audio starts dropping out and coming back, we normally then lose the picture in a bit, or we turn it off because we get fed up with it!

We get the same occasionally, and I've always assumed it's just a signal thing when we start heading down a motorway. In the centre of London, absolutely no issues at all with the picture or sound, and surprisingly driving down the A30 to Penzance last weekend, crystal clear picture and audio at 60-70 mph .

I've had the same problem with my last two RRs. My research indicated some sort of conflict with Bluetooth phone usage. The phone is communicating regularly and interfering with TV audio. I need the phone connection and don't use the tv so never bothered to unpair and check. 2012 5.0L S/C

I do have the phone paired most of the time as well, so could tie in.

Although I don't think I've ever yet seen that issue when crossing London, and presumably if paired the phone is regularly talking to the car regardless of whether I'm in the city or country!

Used the TV yesterday & having the sound cut out every so often along with some pixelation.
I remembered this post about the phone causing an issue, Switched the phone off & it made No difference what so ever!.

Is there any way of boosting the signal strength to overcome this issue & will it work?.
