The last time that I had an Evoque as a loan car it was because my Freelander was in for service and I enjoyed getting my Freelander back, so I can only imagine what it must be like getting a FF back!

Crikey! I've been driving autos for years and wouldn't choose anything else for driving in traffic. My first RR (183 model) was a manual - the LT95 4-speed. I sold it and got an '86 (or was it '87) model with ZF auto as my wife had broken her foot and couldn't depress the really heavy clutch on the '83. I had considered fitting a power booster to the clutch of the '83.

I thought evoque's would age horribly, but as other models have carried similar styling details it's actually still looking ok.

It’s the high seating / low window line that I really like and since the demise of the Discovery, the L405 is the last one

I actually quite like them. Seriously considering ditching the current FF for one in the foreseeable future. Its consistently been a vehicle which both me and the wife have liked. We had one as a courtesy car for a few weeks once. The only downside at the time was the lower rear door for putting a baby seat in. Our lad is nearly 6 now, so no issue.

My second car was a GLS hunter. The one with the Holbay engine and twin 40's. Wish I still had it! RR History

Unfortunately, we didn't get the Holbay in Oz. The Hunter Royal 660 I had was basically a Sceptre - note the badges on the bonnet and the doors - but without the overdrive (which I later fitted). It had an alloy head and twin carbs. Ron B. VK2OTC 2003 L322 V8 Auto 2007 Yamaha XJR1300 Previous: 1983, 1986 RRC; 1995, 1996 P38A; 1995 Disco1; 1984 V8 County 110; Series IIA |
