It has always amazed me how "die hard" Land and Range Rover owners are and how loyal they are to the brand even though their previous car might not have been the finest example of the marque (ie a lemon!)

I think you can tell the fan boys by looking at the signatures. What my signature does not tell you is that the first Disco was my first car.

And I've still got one.

Mick when I made up the poll there was a "None of the above" but the system seems to have a limit on the number of poll questions.

TIM, why are you assuming that everyone's pre FFRR was [what i consider] an expensive car..
i for instance had a bog standard smax before my FFRR and i'm sure there are many others that have upgraded from lesser cars than what's on your list.... ... - .- -.

Sorry I didn't mean to give that impression Scarey, the system only allows a few choices in the poll and once I had posted what I put up I don't seem to be able to add more choices. I moved to the FFRR because after several years driving a Defender every day my shoulder was so sore it was becoming painful all the time due to it being in contact with the B post so often. And the clutch was killing my knee in traffic. I was going about 20k a year in and out of London.

I went for a Disco3, but the FFRR Td6 at the time was 2k more than a Disco 3 HSE due to the price slump in 2008. Seemed silly not to.

Best car I had for the money. Shame I got the bug and upgraded to the TDV8 because really I should have kept the Td6 for longer.

Before the FFRR we owned a 2005 X5 3.0DSport. The only thing that pushed me to change was the poor 6sp gearbox, the 'lurch' the inability to cope with a 2 ton caravan with transmission failsafe mode making regular appearances whilst towing. The car had only 38K on the clock.
Although i am a big fan of the FFRR, despite the huge money spent on the car it still has frustrating traits. I think some call it character, the phone not linking to the bluetooth, the heated front screen works some of the time, the battery goes flat if i use the fbh too much, the climate control fan cuts in and out like its possessed, and so on.

Scarey, it appears that once you have set the options in the poll then you cannot edit them - it would upset the poll results I suppose, I mean I could ask everybody if they preferred x over y and then if I didn't like the way the results were going I could edit the questions to be the other way round! If you count my short flick with a FFRR in 2005, I had a Nissan X-Trail. A good wee car which nipped around and a perfect size for me as I wasn't married or have kids then.
