It only uses 15w of energy at 2 amps so it's actually much lower than you think... at least according to webasto thermotop c, and that is an older model... |

I don't have an FBH in my L322, but do have the large ThermoTop C on the sailing boat as part of the central heating system, and it's fairly economical in terms of amperage when running (~2A as below), but noticeably increases to >10A during start up and cool down periods for maybe 1 min each, so definitely needs a good battery to kick it into life. |

Ahhh, but that's just the FBH unit. If you actually have park heating and not just an FBH that warms the block, then the blower from the HeVAC also runs, which will perhaps pull a few amps no doubt. |
