Fuel burning heater run time

Can anyone tell me how I change the run time on my remote heating?... and also how to trigger it again?

Seems after the first 20min cycle it won't fire up again until it's been driven. If it has a dedicated battery why can't I run it multiple times, and for as long as I would like?

After a driving trip in -26c it's not long enough to properly heat the block before engine starting... I'd like to run it longer as frequently as if like

20 mins is about right (assuming good state of battery charge).
They are as you say designed to only trigger once per engine run cycle though I don't know how long that run has to be to reset it. I suspect you needn't go far but the next time you run the FBH it may not then run for the full 20 minutes.

I've never bothered to test what the current drain is by the FBH but I suspect it's fairly considerable -Though the LR Battery Management System (BMS) is known to be VERY protective of the batteries.

What does annoy me is you can't even sit listening to the radio with the engine off for longer that 10 minutes before the BMS shuts the thing down.

It only uses 15w of energy at 2 amps so it's actually much lower than you think... at least according to webasto thermotop c, and that is an older model...

I don't have an FBH in my L322, but do have the large ThermoTop C on the sailing boat as part of the central heating system, and it's fairly economical in terms of amperage when running (~2A as below), but noticeably increases to >10A during start up and cool down periods for maybe 1 min each, so definitely needs a good battery to kick it into life.

Ahhh, but that's just the FBH unit. If you actually have park heating and not just an FBH that warms the block, then the blower from the HeVAC also runs, which will perhaps pull a few amps no doubt.
