Restricted Performance - Fault Clearance?

Hi guys,

I have a Restricted Performance issue on a 3.6 2010 Vogue SE.

I will check out and swap the top intercooler hoses for starters - then see if that has worked. The question I have is do any fault codes need to be cleared? I don't have an IID Tool.

Any help / guidance will be appreciated.

When my hoses split I didn’t get restricted performance, just a whistle noise.

Maybe I caught it early.

In my experience it’s best to get the codes read before changing parts.

Have a look at the turbo actuators. They cycle when the ignition is switched on. I’ve had the passenger one seize causing restricted performance.

The hoses are the most likely culprit - They can be removed in 5 mins with a screwdriver and inspected properly

I'd definitely do that as a first check - they are cheap to replace and you don't need to clear the faults.

Invest in an IID (or similar) tool if you need to - and not before IMHO

Cheers, thanks guys.

Got the hoses on order anyway. Will take it from there once swapped out.

With the IID Tools, can they be used on other models Or are they model specific? I have TDCI Defender and a Disco 3. I'd like something that could work for all three, or at a minimum the Defender and L322.

Full vehicle coverage is here: http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/products/iidtool/

You can buy additional licences for extra vehicles for £60.

I assume you can "mix" models on the same IID Tool but you may want to confirm that with GAP.

Thanks, I have just bought a BT IID Tool.

And even better found the source of the problem it seems. Many thanks for the input.

Yep dead easy Thumbs Up and quick to fix.

Should be good for a fair few years now. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
