Coolant amount

Hi Guys
Just in the woods walking the dog so have restricted access to stuff. Changing my rad tomorrow so need/want new coolant. It's a 4.4 V8 petrol. What's the total amount needed? Unfortunatly it's the expensive red stuff. Damn!
Thanks
Rob

I'd suggest de-ionised water it's only cheap and no mineral deposits.

Reds not that expensive, or you can change to blue. Make sure you do a full flush though. BMW has noted issues with the OAT coolant causing problems with the plastics they use in the cooling system.

Thanks guys. Where can I get de-ironised water from? To do a flush what would be required?
I didn't get round to the wiki but did try a search whilst out with the dog but wasn't that easy in the woods and on my iPhone.
