Pre Heater remote - wanted

Any one got one for sale?
If not, do I need to go to the dealer?
Do I need anything else, wiring kit etc?

All help in getting a remote and getting it up and running would be great, thanks.

Ebay. They seem to crop up there regularly for a fraction of the dealer cost.

One ebay item claimed the dealer price was £187! Shocked No idea if this is correct, but wouldn't be surprised (maybe someone who's bought one can confirm).

Not sure what you have to do to program them (probably another £60 to the dealer!) or do you need to have the full Vogue software upgrade to have to screen controls for it?

Have a look at Ebay item number 150319986920. Runs until 15th jan. Bit steep for a starting price though.

Larry,
Thanks for that.
I do not need the software upgrade, as I have a Vogue SE, I just want the remote function as the Mrs will have it on all the time. This way it can be on only when it's cold and the doors have frozen up.

It's in the touch screen options, so I'm guessing so, but I will check this weekend to see if I have the box of tricks under the nearside bumper.

Sorry to dampen the flames but the remote won't work without the receiver and that is part of the TV receiver which is why it has such fantastic range , without changing the TV module it's no go I'm afraid. Big Cry 2008 MY Supercharged

If I carn't be sure I'll get my dealer to check when it goes in for the common rear washer problem.
Also had the adaptive headlight warning come on today, then it went out later on and the Mrs didn't even have the lights on.
Good old electrical gremlins.

Is this why it only comes with the Vogue upwards? I hadn't heard this and assumed that the heater worked independently of the rest of the car, hence the separate remote.

The fuel burning heather in the Range Rover is different to the FBH in the D3 or RRS in that it can do two jobs as a factory fit, first it is there to heat up the diesel engine on cold mornings to improve efficiency and uniquely by using the touch screen to control it can be used as a parking heater or timed heater. The Disco based vehicles have a FBH but it cant be controlled by the vehicle(a webasto timer can be fitted but it can't control the heating fan or ducts making it mostly useless)The remote control is another option that can be fitted but as we have discussed that means some expensive parts. Big Cry :if not all ready fitted. Thumbs Up
Now I can sit back and waite for all the D3 and RRS owners with a webasto timers to jump in and tell me they think its grate their fans don't work. Whistle 2008 MY Supercharged

Mine hasn't got the controls on the touch screen or the remote. Not too bothered as the FBH has been a pure pain in the A55 due to a fault leading to a smoke screen everytime it kicks in.

I have probably missed the thread, but what do you need to enable the remote on cars without it fitted? I presume it's a little more than a software upgrade.

Larry

Hope my post doesn't confuse things further

I have a 55 plate HSE which has the FBH. I don't have either the Navigation or the TV fitted, however I do have the Touch Screen and the FBH is remote controlled, handy on the cold mornings.

I have a spare remote control if you're still looking for one give me a shout. It does need to be programmed in by the dealer though.
