Boot light unplugged.

Boot light wasn't working, so I popped it out and found that the little plastic power plug was not connected and tucked away behind some other wiring. Plugged it in and it works perfectly fine (switches off when boot locked, etc).

I didn't get the impression that the plug had come adrift accidentally (through vibration or whatnot) as it is quite secure when plugged in.

So, what reason could there be for someone deliberately unplugging the boot light and tucking the connecting cable neatly out of the way?

Is it a known battery drain or something?

To a fellow wulfrun-ian, i can only speak personally.
I have unplugged certain lights, purely to reduce battery drain when I'm mooching around in the boot.
It also reduces nosey neighbours seeing me putting bodies in the boot. Very Happy 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 on Gas

Haha, OK, Thanks Jake. Give me a toot and a wave if you see a Tonga Green '06 FFRR passing.

A lot of resellers unplug the boot light so that they can leave the boot open all day on the forecourt. They seem to think it will make us notice the cars more or something. I’ve never understood the logic. Current: 2010 Range Rover L322

No FFRR sticker. I've been put off by the tales of the difficulty of applying them correctly (level, unwrinkled, etc). I couldn't stand it if it wasn't level.

Plus I have a mild dislike of stickers on a car. One thing I do when I buy a used car is religiously remove all the stickers. I've still got a previous owners National Trust sticker on the windscreen - whose days are numbered.
