2002 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey
2010 conversion HELP/ADVICE

Been looking at the 2010 conversion packages that are on ebay and wondering if anybody has had this done by one of the companies or any advice really.

I currently have a 2002 Vogue and have no chance (without selling the kids) of affording a 2010 FFRR within the next 5-8 years. Main concerns are how reliable wiring, fitting gaps etc.

I'm based in the North East so not like i could just pop down to DCC4x4 just to have a look at the quality.

Link to one of the supplyers http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Range-Rover-2010-Aut...483eb4e0a9

any advice please

I did the bodywork conversion myself and its fairly easy. Only gap you really have to achieve is side of bumper to wing and this is just about lineing up the bracket when you fix it to the inner wing, Even if you get this wrong its easy to make good. Companies who do this should get it spot on.

Wiring should be as reliable as the experience of the fitter. I'm struggling with doing this myself as have limited understanding/skills but lots of people have done it. Sure i'll get there.

I think the conversion is well worth it but of course forum members will have differing views.

Can't help you on experience of suppliers/ fitters but any others q's i'm happy to help.

And be aware that i don't think that price will include the back lights if you read all the way down. If it does inc back lights its a very good price!! I have been there to buy bits and seem nice enough guys and obviously done lots of conversions so should do a good job!

isnt that price just for the front?

so everyone knows you are driving a fake RR 2010 anyway?

£3K is a lot of cash for essentially a different looking grill IMO...especially if you are in an early car, that could be 25% of the vehicles value that you wont get back on resale

personally, Id save the £3K, invest it for a couple of years and buy the newer car when its a couple of years older... cheers

i tend to agree with that principle - why try to make a vehicle look newer?

i'm about to get a 2005 Vogue and will change the grill because quite simply the newer type looks better - but i'll not have a supercharged sticker!

i will probably get shot down but 'facelifts' for older vehicles to me suggests insecurity of the owners wanting to look as if they have newer vehicles?

just be bloody happy you have a FFRR - millions of others can only dream Very Happy

Nic looking to improve the look of my Range Rover has nothing to do with insecurity Laughing .

I'm looking into the 2010 conversion as i really like the look of the front end but have no chance affording a 2010 FFRR in next few years i'm only 25 and have 2kids.

Changing grill to improve look is the same reason i'm looking to do the 2010 conversion to improve the look.

If i was to get the conversion done would go front and rear for under £3500 installed still having thoughts as i could sell my current TD6 with 75k on for 12-14k max. Could add the 4kish to the sale and id be looking at maybe a 2005 TD6 would be a newer car but taking the risk regarding problems atleast with My current RR i know it inside and out. Plus if i upgraded to another car i wouldn't be getting the 2010 looks which is my main reason for looking to change.

Still undecided would like to try and talk to somebody who's had the 2010 conversion done by a profesional before i make a decision.

Thanks for everybodys thoughts though this is exactly why i posted this thread to see what everyones opinons are.
