GAP IID Tool more than one vehicle?

Just wondered if anyone could answer this question.

I am looking to buy a GAP BT IID device for my Range Rover, VIN locked, can you add a second vehicle, (as my wife has Freelander 2) i.e. 2 birds 1 stone?

Thanks in advance Wink Regards

I think you can use it to read codes on more than one vehicle but to clear faults and do any sort of reconfiguration you will need another vin license. I don't think having a second one is that expensive but drop a note to Pat at Gap (they're a site sponsor on here) they're very responsive. Thumbs Up 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

I was under the impression you just bought the licence for another vehicle so it would be unlocked for that vehicle also to use the one tool.

thank you for link, so can I assume that now that IID TOOL Pro is on the market that the BT tool is unlocked to all LR;s.
This is as I read on the link VIN LOCK please.

I emailed the the other day asking this, but they on holiday till next year. Dose say in their faq that you can assign it to a new vin for £25

I’m sure you can assign to a new vin if you change car and it’s £25 . Buying another license to use iid on another car as well as yours is £60 .

I got a response from GAP, and as the unit will read and reset faults I on any compatable vehicle, not just the VIN vehicle(really useful, Thumbs Up Thumbs Up GAP), I will think about a second licence for the wife's Freelander 2, the only thing I'd like to change is the folding mirrors on locking, although I'm sure my wife likes it!! Razz

I have ordered one from Dan, looking forward to receiving it, trying it out soon!

Thank you for your comments chaps Wink Regards

Any compatible vehicle? So if you have vin locked to an L322 it would have access to the same albeit in a limited role.

I managed to read and clear the faults on my brother-in-law's Jaguar XK with my IIDBT. Same stable so I guess it must be a "compatible" vehicle!! 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Here's the email content from GAP

"Thank you for your interest in our products.
Certainly, here's our licence policy:
Full diagnostic capabilities (free of charge on any supported vehicles for the IIDTool BT*)
• Fault read / clear
• Live values
• Control outputs
• Service / test functions (this includes service interval reset)

Advanced programming functions (IIDTool BT: one free VIN, additional licence available at 60 GBP):
• Suspension height modification
• ECU Flash
• Car Configuration File editing
• Component and system calibration (steering angle sensor calibration etc)
• Advanced functions including backup / restore, save profiles – vehicle system settings and
configurations are read and stored as a backup file for a restore function, various changes
to systems (e.g. suspension height) can be stored and changed quickly
If you need the advanced function for both cars, an additional licence it what you will need: " Regards
