No sound

Just had my ffrr into the dealer to investigate my no sound from infotainment system, they checked all the modules and components and found no fault with them, they’ve told me that it is probably a wiring problem and they would need about three days to investigate the problem :bulb: I know it’s a long shot but does anyone know where the most common wire trap issues occur or even how the wiring is routed?? I’m terrified of what three days labour at the dealer would cost, any help would be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't be surprised if it's not water ingress again in the rear left hand compartment as viewed from behind. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Must admit I thought that too, I’ve had a good dig around in there and it’s bone dry, not even any signs of water ingress, looks like I’m going to have to start tracing wires!

Sounds daft but this happened in a Jag "R" and was cured by disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery. This resets all the ECU's and other gizmo's. Let the Sat Nav close down properly (5 minutes) before disconnecting the battery though and when reconnected remember to do the suspension reset by turning the wheel to full lock on either side....

when I did a post mortem on my mk III nav the water was only evident on the board as very clear mass of oxidation akin to pidgeon poo visually. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

makes sense cos it only needs a little bit of water to damage the electronics and any moisture on the surrounding area might have evaporated... ... - .- -.

Tried the hard reset (battery disconnect) and the dealer has changed all the components, amp, phone, tuners and infotainment module, even software update, they say that although everything is working properly something is preventing them from talking to each other correctly they think a wire may be chaffed or broken somewhere in the system, I’ve had a look today and although some are badly routed (around sharp edges and so on) none seem damaged, got a lot more to check though, will take some time I suppose, at least I’m forming some sort of bond with old girl!!!!
