Weird brake locking = akin to traction control kicking in

L322 TD6. We have had very heavy rain here, and yesterday whilst reversing out of my drive way I heard a loud thud noise like I had run over something, The air suspension and HDC fault warnings popped up on dash as well as 3 warning lights. IIDtool BT showed left wheel sensor signal implausible. I cleared the faults, drove ok. then again it happend it seems the wheels locked up. Cleared and drove home. This morning went to move her out of the drive way and it seems like the traction control kicked in and locked a front wheel or something .
It's Too wet outside to pull the wheel off and check anything at present due to heavy rain fall.

lov, drum brakes -( EPB on RR), can swell with moisture and lock the wheels . if it continues to happen, release the EPB a notch with adjustment wheel.

nino nino, it feels like the front is locking, but will check the rear drums. I did have rear drums lock on me once before as the shoes were U/S. I replaced the shoes and all was ok after that. Seems a stupid idea if you go through water and the hand brake shoes swell Evil or Very Mad

Does the speedo work?

On my TD6, the reluctor ring that the speed sensor reads from rusted through on the rear left side. That feeds the speedo. As it doesn’t get a signal it thinks the car is stationary, so when it gets a speed reading from the other 3 when you are going down the road, it assumes they are spinning, so activates traction control and reduces engine power......

If it is that..... worth a look...

Speedo works, I think my hand brake shoe is sticking on and since the rear wheel wont rotate it must send a signal to the ABS to lock the other wheels also. I won't know until I pull the wheel off and check the rear brakes.

I had the same thing after heavy rain and also car had been for it’s MOT so may have got upset with the wheels dangling down.
I went through a big puddle and EAS inactive came up and then next day HDC kicked in putting the brakes on as I reversed off the drive then HDC, ABS, EAS inactive then would drive fine. The ABS sensors were new but britpart so I took them out and gave them a clean and had to clear the fault a couple of times but have been fine now for a year .

Holiday Chicken, may be dilectric grease is needed on these sensors to repel water?

That could well be the answer or something along those lines
I have britpart sensors and aftermarket outer cv joints and i figured it was water getting between the cv joint ring and the sensor although looking back over the old photos the old sensor was corroded in place and i cleaned up the bore where the sensor goes and if i know me i probably put some copper slip in the bore to stop it corroding again which may have upset it.
i cleaned up the sensor and put it back and it has been fine although i have not hit any big puddles since as far as i can remember.

I removed the rear wheels today and checked the brake shoes for binding, even removed the disc to check the condition of the shoes. All was ok. I then unplugged the front sensors at the connections and all was dry, I gave them a spray of electrical contact cleaner just for good measure. I disconnected the ABS ECU plug and gave that a spray with electrical contact cleaner also.
I went to take it for a test drive and immediately I had the brakes grab what appeared to be in the front. I ran out of time to do any more work on it so left it parked.
A few hours later I had my wife come out, I wanted to have her walk along side of the Range Rover and tell me which wheel was the likely cause of the noise of grabbing. but it didn't do anything abnormal. So next I took the Range Rover for a long drive and it performed as it should, no problems came up. So it's a mystery. Question

We don't have the extreme corrosion problems that you chaps in the UK have as we do not use salt on our roads

Have a search about regarding the ABS module as they can fail and give some strange problems

Until you have substituted both left and right abs sensor and checked wiring you are looking too deep. I would also check you have not pushed too much copper grease down the hole it will attenuate a very small timing signal if not careful.
