Went out yesterday morning to start it and click! No start great! I used it the night before, surly the first cold night this season didnt kill my battery? I fitted a new one around 6 months ago, it was a Varta one but never did seem to crank quite the same as before. How do I test to see if it’s a faulty battery? 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography |

one conclusive way is to do a drop test on it, most garages can do this... ... - .- -.

Just to barge in with a question, in the shed I've got one of those old Frankenstein-type devices. What may be asbestos sheets hold two handles with points on the other end, connected by some springy strip metal with a meter in the middle.

That's , the battery wasn't "allowed" to go flat, it went flat on it's own and couldn't be stopped. It only has one job to do, hold charge, which it has failed to do. That's like buying a new car that breaks down the the dealer saying they wouldn't fix it because you allowed it to break down. I'd be back to them lickety split and insist it be sorted under warranty. |

I bought it on eBay back in March via Paypal so nothing I can do ref money back. I called trading standards/consumer rights which is ran by Citizens advise who told me a bunch of legal stuff to say which I had already done on the phone while I was being polite to battery megs store, then I just lost my rag a little and told them what I thought of their bullshit warranty. So basically there’s not a lot I can, I told them on the phone I would be in touch with trading standards and she said do what I need to but they wouldn’t do anything unless I paid £20 😡. I also told them I would be on lots of forums explaining what a dishonourable company they are, again age said up to me! I said any company with honour would just sort the issue out. 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography |

I believe that if the purchase is made through paypal then the protection on a credit card is void. Open to correction. It may depend on the bank and their T&Cs. John
