Looking for some advice - sorry it's a long one!

I had rear calipers replaced January as the old ones were binding. If I went on the motorway/dual carriageway then there was shuddering all through the car, particularly the passenger seat vibrating/wobbling a lot.

Since then above about 65 and particularly above 80 the passengers seat wobbles in a similar fashion albeit much much less severe.

I thought brake discs might be warped due to the excessive heat from the binding and if you coast down the road with window open you can hear them catching/brushing every rotation. So today have replaced them, given everything a good clean and grease but there is no change to any symptoms. Also I cocked up adjusting the handbrake as it doesn't hold fully 🙄.

So my questions:

Do all brakes rub a little?

Can I do the bedding in procedure on handbrake or do I need to manually adjust?

Would the top hub bushes being slightly worn cause the vibration? (Mentioned at service time, but I forgot to ask about vibration).

Any advice appreciated.

Do the hand brake adjustment procedure it's in the WM something to do with holding the handbrake switch up. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If the epb isnt holding you will need to manually adjust it before doing the reset procedure from the WM. Basicallly you move the cog till you cant move the wheel anymore then back it of about 3 clicks then do the reset procedure. Theres an excellent guide here for brakes although for a disco 3 same type of system and work involved. Hope its ok to the post the link to a sister site but i found this very useful.

My passenger seat vibrates too

My cure was to put a passenger in it
Or rest my arm on its arm rest

I don't think the vibration has anything to do with brakes
Harmonic resonance and all that driving over uneven surfaces

Hub bushes won't cause a vibration that bad

Get the discs checked for runout with a dial gauge.

Also check the rear wheel balance, won't be the first time a mechanic has knocked balance weights off a heavy FF wheel when taking it off or refitting it...!! Unbalanced rear wheel vibration is felt through the floor....  Pete
