It's a no brainier to try both engines first before you part with so much money. The 3.0 is as quick as yours, more refined than both yours and the l405 V8 and pretty good on fuel. The V8 is noticeably quicker than yours and again surprisingly good on fuel and again a good engine. For my two penneth worth I'd also look at something with less miles if you can afford it, even if it means picking a well specked SE. The engine would come second place to picking a well cared for car with enough kit in it to make driving special |

The one in the link is a vogue so won't have adaptive cruise control . I agree the SE offers a great compromise and I rate the 3 litre v6 . Try and get one with front fog lights as they are only standard on the autobiography , which is a bit daft. |

That one looks a bit poverty spec. Who doesn't spec the fog lights! |

Front fogs are really a waste of time IMHO as actual lights, but I do think they look better with them.

I agree with the SE comment, and anything around needs the 2 year warranty alaso I'd say.

You will know when it's time to change, but for me to pay £25,000 extra for a car that is about the same age, with the same engine and about the same mileage would not make sense, even allowing for the greater performance and refinement of the 405 and the reduced corrosion risk, against reduced luggage space.

I don't know whether LR dealers would be open enough to tell you, but a starting point might be jonttt's thread "My 405 is terminal" and you could use the search facility with "seized 3.0" or the like. His one seemed to be a 2015. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |
