Advice on fitting brake pads

I fitted new disks and pads to my MY2011 TDV8 a few months ago and did not grease the back of the pads, as they had the self adhesive high density foam pads on the back. I now have deep tone break squeal with low speed braking.
Should I have copper greased the back of the pads even though they have the anti-squeal backing?
...and should they simply be greased now?

you may wanna try "cleaning" the disks while driving (advisories - nice deserted pace of road etc...etc..)
bring car to 70-75 mph then apply brakes, pressing light at first then increasing pressure till you are at 30-35 mph, accelerate and do the same thing 3-4 times.

Tried the hard breaking idea, no better. The problems now getting worse, with vibration being felt inside the car.
Should any ideas anyone?

Sounds more like a sticking caliper if you are getting vibration. Check the slide pins and re grease them. Alternatively, is there a warped disc? Unlikely as they are new but..

PS. After driving check the wheels for temperature. If one is hotter than the others then start with that. John

Thanks, will give that a try this, I had not thought to grease the pins. While everything in apart, should the back of the pads be greased or left dry?

where is vibration coming from? front, rear, left, right. is it always present or only under hard braking? if you trailing the brakes do you feel pulsation on the pedal?

The vibration is coming from the front near side. It only happens at very slow speed, like a couple of miles per hour, with very very light touching of the break peddle. Firm pressure to the peddle gives no squeal or vibration. Typically occurs when slowing the car in slow rolling traffic. No binding on the breaks at all. Car stops well and otherwise everything is in order.

No need to grease the pins on the front calipers, it is rear caliper that have sliding pins which require greasing.
looks like your front discs are warped or you have not cleaned the mating surfaces( disk hub and half shaft) when installing disks.
what shape are the old disks in. is there enough "meat" on them to be machined? I believe that min. thickness is 31mm.
if you go to the masinist ask them to machine inside the disk hub to(just the fraction of the mm) so that all surfaces are parallel.

Thanks again for the reply, the old disks we totally shot and have been skipped. The new ones were true when that were fitted, but I just bolted the new disks on without cleaning the mating surfaces, so I guess that could well be the problem.

It's not unheard of to have warped new discs! I had a set when I did the discs on my 3.6. Pain in the ass finding out they are damaged and having to by and fit a new set before returning the warped ones..
