Tight nuts for TC oil change

Tried to undo the fill/drain plugs for oil change today. No luck. Censored

Sprayed them with Lanolin to help and left it.

Was thinking of using a drill with appropriate bit to undo them but dont know whether it would be good/bad for them.

Any help greatly appreciated.

cheers

I've just done my gearbox and had similar issues..ended up taking it for a 10 minute drive and the heat definetly made a diffrence as they cracked open in an instant..

Be careful using a drill you dont want to do any damage and not be able to get them back in again! A short drive just to warm the tc up should help i would say. When i did mine i drive it about a mile and then got my stuff ready and when i came to undo the fill plug it came out nice and easy and the oil was luke warm when it ran out. When refitting use some ptfe tape to aid the seal and removing next time. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Thanks guys,it was sitting for a bit before I attempted to undo the nuts.

I'll try them when I come back from the drive in the morning ( about 50 k's).

cheers

Got it done this morning after the drive.
Was easy as to get undone /drain and refill.

Oil that came out had definately seen better days,so am glad I changed it.

A lot quieter going in/out of low range too.

cheers
