Ireland 2006 Range Rover HSE Td6 Buckingham Blue
Drivers side door mirror glass.

Had a bit of a coming together with a Transit at the weekend that resulted in a broken door mirror glass for me, the transit didn't come off so well, seems to be nothing left but the frame, glass and cover gone, also seemed to think his dashcam was going to tell him something about the incident (relatively narrow country road but plenty wide for 2 vehicles), seemed to change his attitude when he found out who I was and that I lived about a mile away and had been traveling that road for 40 years, "I would have though you would know the road better", "I do, what's your excuse?" (He lives about 150 miles away), then it changed to "Oh well, just one of those things I suppose".......... Rolling Eyes

Anywho, I need a new glass and I've been reading that some have changed their mirror glass to non OEM parts due to a blind spot, but perhaps this is just on the pre 2006 model?

So my question, will this fit my 2006 FF, and is it any better, worse, or the same as the original?

Are the FFRR and the sport glasses the same? (description says it bits both)

I'm also aware the it may require a little fettling.

Thanks.

We've just had two Bearmach replacements for ours one from eBay and another from a Land Rover specialist and although they both has the wiring neither dimmed with the rear view mirror. We got fed up in the end and had a new one from Dan @ Duckworth. Censored Expensive! But it works..

Cheers Joe, so the blind spot wasn't an issue after 2004 anyway?

Any issue with the ones I linked to for my 2006?

Thanks.

I only have experience of the earlier ones, so can't say one way or the other unfortunately. Someone will be along soon, no doubt Cool .

Just an update in case anyone else in replacing a door mirror glass.

I ordered the one that I linked to in the first post, arrived yesterday, fitted last night with no issues.

I didn't have to take the surround or cover off, just a straight push on but it does take a good push to get in properly secured, a bit risky pushing the glass and you'll wish it didn't take such force but once it's in place you'll be glad it does take a bit of a push so you know it's properly held on and secured.
