I spent the first 6 months of ownership with the VSE TPMS system showing a fault. It drove me potty but then I just seemed to block it out...

Ed, can I just check with you what happened.... you installed a new TPMS valve into your 08 RR and it eventually was recognised by the CPU without any programming by the dealer? In other words no dealer programming is needed for new valves?

They are self configuring - no dealer input required - after 10 minutes or so of driving, the car should recognise the new valves. |

Then the dealers are on a scam here.....two of them told me reprogramming is needed at a rate of half to one hour labour charge. Thanks fo replying. |

Ummmm, I have just specced this to my new car as it has no spare only a can of "stuff" to repair the tyre! Wonder if I should delete it in view of all the posts about the problems 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

Having had TPMS "warnings" since I got my car 4 weeks ago, I'm going to have the bl@@dy thing disabled!

I guess they are charging you for driving round until they are recognised.... Maybe just push them a bit and ask them what 'reprogramming' entails ? |

Could you pull the fuse supplying the TPMS to 'reset' the system, then try again with getting the system to recognise the new sensors?
