Wing Mirror Cover

Hi folks.. any idea how to take the wing mirror covers off? I want to paint them matt black and didn't want to break the clips.

I've noticed people in Oz are starting to call them wing mirrors - a term that was never used here in the past. We never called the metalwork over the front wheel "wings" - they are mudguards down here. Having said that, motoring journalists are now using the US term of "fenders" Gaaahhh! Ron B. VK2OTC

Cheers Stan

Nobby C cheers for the video. Gonna have a bash tomorrow

P38rover.. you are right... it's a funny one. I always called them side mirror and when searching the net you do pick up certain words and think that's what they are called.. lol

Always called them wing mirrors if mounted on the wings (as in series LR) and door mirrors if mounted on doors . Just seems logical Wink

Ok.. the video shows taking the cover off from the bottom.. epic fail !!

The correct way is to take the covers off from the top.. I used a plastic wedge at the top and it came out like a dream.. the first one however was a different story as I followed the video and ended up snapping the plastic clips.. #rage..

Anyhow all in all.. it was a good Mod. it looks much slicker as the color matched covers looked out of place..

Yea....mine are blue and I agree it sort of breaks up the idea of the "floating roof", as the window level always used to be just black....

A fender, wing mirror and a mudguard....
