405: Anyone know a way to secure against keyless entry gadgets?
There are key fob holders that work like a Faraday cage for example.
It seems especially a problem if you park your car join the drive, near your front door, go into your house and leave your keys on the hall table. Then then can grab and repeat that signal to just open your door.

Iirc they are now preventing the obd new keys being added to a lot of cars but the thefts continue as I've mentioned before, they don't need to clone the key or create a new one per se.

They use a device that basically is a wifi repeater in that it picks up the weak key signal to unlock the car but also for the car to pickup that the key is in the vehicle and thus can be started. Once started the car never checks again that the key is inside and will run for as long as there is fuel. Some vehicles will warn the key has been removed from the vehicle but won't stall the engine iirc.

The thieves then drive the car to their location. Usually a lined building or a shipping container and strip it for parts or get a new keyset all done and export or clone it.

Petrol vehicles are the most common to be exported but there is a change to more vehicles just being broken down for parts as it's quicker and easier. Shells are then cut down on site and squished a good bit before being weighed in as scrap... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
