If the measurements you're giving are right then modifying the dash top shouldn't be too bad, especially if it's only about 1cm.

Some photos from your installation might push me to having a go..

As with any android installation you would need to leave the original head unit connected but in the glove compartment, in the space used by the cd changer. ______________________________

Your relying on old hardware then though aren't you? The nbt setup controls the clock etc natively
