Err - I thought that... But fitted a button-less one in my Toyota. But I found you REALLY need a volume dial. I never realised. So I changed it to a different unit. Also , that screen would foul on the hooded dash no? Cheers, Greg

Luckily it will work with the steering wheel volume controls etc.

The touching of the dash top is the sticking point at the moment..... ______________________________

Hi, thanks for the links. I've just had a reply from Erisin asking if I would take some photos of the plugs going into the head unit and BM54, so they can determine if it's compatible.

I think I know the answer as it's all based on an X5 anyway but I'll send the pics off as it covers me if it's not compatible.

I managed to get some extra measurements from Erisin for this unit specifically the screen size from bottom to top.

Anyway it's 185mm which in old money is about 7 inches which would mean it sticking above the dash top panel by about 2 inches. Add to that the fact it doesn't extend far enough out to miss the dash top means to fit it I would have to cut and modify the dash top panel.

I do like this head unit but not enough to modify my dash top, so although the electronics look like they would work, the physical immensity of this thing wouldn't, so back to the drawing board Thumbs Up

Sounds like a solid plan B.

I was following your link but it seemed a bit too confusing so I'll have another look now.

Ok no worries - i need to update it tbh I now have the carsystems adapter which works better and gives you speed limit info and front and rear camera support.

The only stumbling block I have is the dsp system as no one seems to be able to recode them on a ff they need to be dropped into and e39 or e53 but no one wants to help Sad I have a plan b which hopefully will pan out in the next week or so which is to get the amp from the hse and replace it hopefully leaving the speakers in tact. Worst case I would need 4 sets of components but trying to work out the path of least pain!

Australia 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Adriatic Blue

Hi Guys,

I took a gamble and bought this head unit and it works perfectly. The screen is quite large and fills in that section very well. Like you guys have mentioned the only issue is that it is too tall. However, it is only less than 1cm too tall (probably 5-8mm), so modifications to the dash would be very minimal. Just trying to find an auto trimmer to cut away.

Sorry no pics at the moment as I have taken it out until I have the dash fixed.

Cheers

Great well done. Have a smaller android in our Toyota but running the same OS and it's a really great system, excellent iGO satnav, expandable (dash cam, tv, dab) so if you're willing to cut your dash top then it'll be a great upgrade. You may be able to cut or mod those curved sides to fit in better with the rest of your dash.
What year is your RR? Cheers, Greg
