When the car is locked and you open one door, check and see if both sides of the car has its steps down!

I have this. Sounds like it's from the left rear. I assumed it was diesel slap in the tank has been reported elsewhere on these cars. Does this sound like the same ? Only really hear on start up as I drive down the drive. 2013 L405 AB 4.4SDV8 Luxor/Ivory, 2007 Vogue TDV8 Epson Green/Sand, 2008 Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue/Sand, 2003 Vogue 4.4 LPG Epsom Green/Sage, 1998 Vogue SE 4.6 LPG Epsom Green/Cream |

Had similar noise, like steps retracting.

In my case it's definitely not the steps retracting. The steps take about a second to move whereas the sound I'm getting is a single, deep, muffled thump of a noise.

See if it does it even if you don't pull away.
