Moving over to FFRR

Hi Folks,

Moving from a RRS TDV8 and joing the FFRR gang so here is my delemma, just ordered a Vogue SE TDV8 with some extras such as Privacy, Adaptive Xeons, Autobiography Front, Illuminated Sills, Full Size Spare, Mud Flaps, Tow Bar, Side Steps and Dual Screen in Fuji White.

Going for the Jet leather and jet roof lining but not sure what colour wood finnish to go for - the dealer is suggesting Piano Black at £360 bit I like the Burr Wood effect bearing in mind its got alot of black in it.

What do you guys think?

Please keep it clean-ish when replying Wink "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

It's going to be very, very dark inside. Regardless of the wood finish.

Personally if it was me I would choose the Piano Black, but as Fox said, It will be a dark Interior whatever trim you choose. Burr looks good though, not my first choice, but still very nice regardless. Your decision at the end of the day. Thumbs Up

I have dark car (Baltic Blue) and went for jet interior and piano black - looks very nice. I don't have jet headliner though as think this makes it very dark. The light (Ivory) headliner looks good and lightens the interior sufficiently IMO.

I was going to go for burr or walnut but dealer suggested piano black as nothing in my choice matched the other woods. Saw some examples adn went for his expertise. Remember they see a lot of these cars so know what combos work well.

Think I would choose the Piano Black over the Burr Wood trim.

Having wood finish would be introducing another element to the mix and could look a little fussy - whereas the glossy black piano trim would be a nice contrast to the matt black finish of the leather upholstery and other furnishings and silver button details and surrounds. Just my opinion of course.

Welcome to the club Russ, there's an awful lot of black inside that spec - I drove an all black interior 4.4TDv8 at the presentation day in Edinburgh and it was very very dark inside especially so with the privacy glass too. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Thanks for all the replys - think I am going to change the order as there is plenty of time to do so to Jet seats and carpet with the light roof liner and piano black although I think the burr wood would possible blend in with the new choice Question Question "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

Carpets piped with headliner colour?

ave to admit I avoided the dark interiors when I bought mine as I felt it ruined some of the open, spacious feel the RR has.

The light interior works really well with burr wood, looks classic, luxurious and I've not found any dirt issues with the sand interior as long as every now and again you get the autglym leather cleaner out for a quick whizz round (no more than 3 minutes a seat needed)

If I went black for any reason then I'd go with a black grain if available or piano black gloss but not a "brown" wood as it'd be too fussy

Same here, sand interior with burr wood, classic...mind you at the time of purchase it was in the showroom so what you see is what you get, but very happy Thumbs Up

Was looking at the new blue one...liked the color in the showroom although one needs to see it outside, anybody seen it in the sunshine? Yes I know at the moment it's only snowing Laughing ... Parchment interior is very nice but having a problem with the blue piping and blue dashboard...

I really like that new blue... Mine is buck blue, again preferred to the black on black on black that was the other option available.

Black exterior does look nice though especially latest shape with the "bling" contrasting so good call OP Smile

Now... how to convert you to a nice bright interior....hmmm.... Wink

One thing to remember with the Piano Black trim is that it scratches very easily.... Rolling Eyes

They can normally be polished out if not too deep, but it's not anywhere near as hard-wearing as Wood...

This is the colour I have and it looks absolutely great in the showroom. Looks brilliant in the open in sunshine, really nice metalics coming through, golds, purples blues etc - very good. In normal light, gray cloudy light it looks quite flat and gray-blue in colour - not bad at all, just different. Actually think it suits the surrounding light.

Was considering a blue interior instead of jet but advised against it by the dealer. When looking at the sample swatches he was right. The new blue has an element of gray, unlike the old Buck blue, which was very blue. The gray seats would suit it better than blue, I opted for Jet as personally not keen on gray.
