Brake lights on and key won't turn.

04 l322 v8 petrol. Brake lights came on while parked up. Went into car and key won't turn. Tried the fuse 18 and column plug trick but doesn.t make any difference. Only solution is to disconnect battery overnight. Connect up and it will start and run as many times as you like. Lock it and fault returns after about 2 hours. Looks like I'll need to disconnect the battery every day now when I get to work and stick it back on when I go home. Anybody seen this before?

Just one more symptom. If I leave it sitting for a couple of hours in the fa ult condition with brake lights on the alarm will go off.
