It really isn't that difficult to do. I managed to find the two connectors (6 pin and 3 pin) in the boot of a BMW at the local scrapyard. They charged me £1!

I've got details of how to swap the pins. It's very easy. I bought the two plugs from an X5. All the pins are numbered, just follow the guide.

Those plugs are readily available on the bay of fleas.. do a search for "CD plugs" BMW, MG, Rover, Range Rover etc

That's a great help. Thanks buddy! I presume the other connector I unplugged which actually fits in the ibus connection to the intravee should just be plugged back in and ignored? |

Yup and there we have it..... earth wires left behind..... if they weren't needed then BMW / LR wouldn't have put them there in the first place and saved a few miles of cable in the process

I found that the pins came out of the plug easily, the tricky bit is getting the plug inner out of the outer Don't give up, and a selection of small (jewelers) screwdrivers is a big help

Well that's it finally fitted. Quite enjoyed the re-pinning part tbh . It doesn't look too organised in there but I've managed to tuck about 40 foot of cable through the small gaps at the roof of the glove box.

Also very important to use the earths.. tried it without just to see and the TV keeps switching off and on.. keeps grounding and the system doesn't work as it should.. added the earths and it's perfect! |
