I agree, ring round, but then the fun begins because not all services are equal. There are some optional service items and each dealer will quote for a different scope. |

Thanks everyone... yes, ranging from £566 to £756 for the second year service. Typical that the expensive one is 5 mins from me and the cheapest the furthest! |

Oh, and another quick few question if I may.... these prices were al JLR dealers. I have an independent garage locally that claims to use all jlr parts. If I used them would it void my warranty? Also would they be able to access the service system to update the log book? Do I need to have the official log booK up to date to retain my warranty or would paper receipts of the service be sufficient?

But as in my previous response, there is every chance that the quotes are for different work scopes. One might include changing transfer box oil, or changing brake fluid and the people you are speaking to don't know exactly what's included. It's surprisingly difficult to really know what you are buying. |

i can see your point but when you ring the dealer , you ask what the 2 year service involves and you then quote that work to the next dealer you ring..

That's exactly what I do Stan but it's surprising how often they have to "go and check" or don't seem to know. I managed to get the work scope emailed to me last week which is a big help.

Thanks, if an Indy uses JLR parts does the warranty remain intact? I have had a good one recommended by a friend but his is an older model. |

One way would be to buy your own genuine parts, e.g. from site sponsor Duckworth LR Parts Dept, keep the parts receipt and then commission a VAT registered independent specialist (VAT receipt is necessary) to fit the parts. Both receipt types would be sound proof for the LR warranty provider. |

I thought I would tag onto this thread rather than start a new one as it is on topic.

That does sound like a good deal and worth investigating, do you think it is a dealer only offer or a JLR deal?[/img] First time FFRR owner |
