2010 style lights

Hi guys .. just a heads up from anybody who has fitted powerfuls 2010 style rear leds.. I've fitted a set on my car using resistors and ballasts and a set to a friends using the interface box you can buy.. both sets of lights seem to have half the lower part of the fog illuminated? When you press the fog it brightens up hugely.. just wondering if this is normal and they maybe quite aren't the same as the proper landrover ones..no errors or hyper flashing indicators either so wired up correctly..

There's a configuration setting that you need to change so that the half fogs are switched off. I had this issue but I cannot remember the exact coding but I believe it was the 'half fog' light or similar.

I have a Faultmate Extreme which can re-code the CCF and the GAP IID tool will also do the same job.

regards

John

Oh, you also might want to switch the 'cold monitoring' off re the lights otherwise you may well have warning bongs (check light bulbs) and / or lights flickering on start up.

Thumbs Up

Any update on this? I have a 2003 Vogue that I'm going to do the rear lights on. I don't mind some DiY, but would like to know these can be fitted without problems?

Iid can't turn the half fog off,'gap confirmed it for me when I couldn't find it.. I managed it with resistors and ballasts I got from powerful uks site.. they give you all the wiring info ect.. only thing is mind and mount the resistors on the metal if you can rather than the light unit as the resistors get hit and could melt them..they look great and are worth the hassle..if I couldn't manage the install it was only costing about £50 for an auto spark to do it..
