Collected the car to play from the dealer. The service guy said the bill to the warranty company was c.£800 and would equate to £1000 retail. To change a belt tensioner! I hope the replacement lasts. 2012 4.4TDV8 VSE

Still Squeaking!

Hello All,
I’ve had a similar problem with squeaky belts. Garage replaced tensioner and both belts, but it’s still squeaking😡😡.
They observe that the bottom pulley has a slight wobble and maybe the cause....any thoughts on this?

I presume they mean the crankshaft pulley?
I can’t think why that should “wobble “.

Yes it’s the crankshaft pulley. Apparently there is a rubber bush in there that perishes and causes the wobble. But it’s only very slight. Does yours wobble... if you’ll pardon the expression sir!

An update..... another new belt seems to have cured the squeak. Seems the other one was faulty! Bow down
